Chrono-log Wide Band Aggregometer
Rapid screening of platelet function
Provides testing of platelet function in whole blood samples
Monitor aspirin therapies and anti-platelet drug therapies
Results are reportable within 15 minutes of blood draw
Hyper-aggregability ... significantly high test result or spontaneous response
Reduced hands-on time as no sample preperation is required
Increase laboratory income by testing more patients each shift
CHRONO-LOG WBA SYSTEMS
The Chrono-log WBA Systems are available in two (2) or four (4) channel configurations … providing testing of platelet function in whole blood samples utilizing either reusable or disposable probes.
WBA Systems can be used to detect:
-
Patients at risk of bleeding or thrombosis
-
Aspirin use or aspirin-like defect
-
von Willebrand Disease
-
Type 2B or Platelet-Type von Willebrand
-
Bernard Soulier Syndrome
and to monitor:
-
Aspirin therapy (therapeutic vs poor response)
-
Anti-platelet drug therapies such as GPIIb/IIIa, ADP Receptor, etc.
Main Advantages
-
Aspirin screen and von Willebrand screen results are reportable within 15 minutes of blood draw
-
Confirmation of normal platelet function presurgically reduces the need for ordering costly platelets of transfusion
-
Reduced hands-on time as no sample preperation is required Increase laboratory income by testing more patients each shift
-
Sample Volume - 500 μL of whole blood
-
Electrical impedance system - electrical resistance, reported in ohms of aggregation is not dependent on sample clarity
-
Platelet count - aggregation can be measured with platelet counts as low as 50,000/μL
